What is ROOTS M&E?

ROOTS M&E is a web-based Management and Evaluation system designed for the ROOTS program in The Gambia. Its main purpose is to streamline data collection, approval, and reporting for project supervisors, data entry clerks, and administrators. The system manages users, beneficiary records, and project indicators.

Key Features

The ROOTS M&E web application includes several key features

Administrators can add, edit, and manage user accounts for data entry clerks, clients, and supervisors.
Access is restricted by region, with supervisors and data entry users only able to view information from their assigned areas. Admins have full access.
The system allows for adding, editing, and approving beneficiary records, including their demographic and project data.
It tracks and manages project indicators, including components, subcomponents, and interventions.
A workflow is in place for supervisors to review and approve beneficiary records from their specific region.
Users can generate reports by date, region, and other filters.
The system includes a secure login with password validation and options for changing or resetting passwords.

Data Flow & Business Logic

The system’s data flow and business logic are designed for efficiency and security

Forms use dropdowns populated from the region table, and a user's session is used to filter what supervisors can see and approve, ensuring they only access records from their region.
All forms use the Bootstrap grid system for a user-friendly and modern layout.
Password fields include show/hide functionality and validation to ensure re-entered passwords match.
