The Story

The Sudan Police Force, in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the United Nations–African Union Mission in Darfur (UNAMID), needed to rebuild public trust and modernize their operations. A key part of this effort was to provide citizens with a secure and transparent way to file and monitor complaints against law enforcement officers.

What Did USGamneeds Do

We developed a web-based Complain Management System that allows complainants to file and track the status of their complaints. We also developed a UN Police HR System to manage the human resource needs of the Sudan Police Force. These systems were a vital part of a broader capacity-building program aimed at strengthening the professional capacity of the police and upholding the rule of law.

A closer look at one critical collaboration

This project highlights our ability to deliver solutions for high-stakes, internationally-backed initiatives. Our work was a specific and vital component of the larger UN and UNDP mission to strengthen police capacity and build a sustainable environment for peace in Darfur. The complain management system created a formal digital channel for accountability and transparency, directly addressing the critical need for improved relations between the police and the public.

The Results

The successful implementation of these systems provided the Sudan Police Force with the tools to enhance transparency and improve accountability. The Complain Management System established a formal mechanism for addressing citizen concerns, while the HR system streamlined personnel management, contributing to a more effective and professional police force in line with international standards and peace building goals.
